Connect Claude to Distronode
The Distronode connector lets Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, read one of your workspaces: its calls, the messages your receptionist took, Inbox conversations, contacts and call statistics. It is read-only, so Claude cannot place calls, send messages or change anything.
Connector URL
https://www.distronode.com/mcp
Paste it into Claude when you add the connector.
Set it up
In claude.ai
- Open Customize, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it Distronode, paste the connector URL and add it.
- Choose Connect, sign in to Distronode, pick the workspace Claude may read, and allow read access.
In Claude Code
- Add the connector from a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http distronode https://www.distronode.com/mcp - Start Claude Code, run /mcp, select distronode and choose Authenticate.
- Sign in to Distronode in the browser window that opens, pick a workspace and allow read access.
Each connection reads one workspace; to add another, connect again and pick it. Any member of a workspace can connect it, from an account with a verified email address.
What Claude can read
Eight tools, all read-only. You ask in your own words and Claude picks the tool. Text written or spoken by callers comes back marked as data, so Claude reports on it rather than following it.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
list_recent_calls | Your most recent calls, newest first: caller, number, direction, status, duration, a one-line summary, sentiment, disposition and the triage verdict. Up to 25 at a time, optionally of one urgency only. |
get_call | One call in full: everything above, plus its key points, objections, topics, action items and transcript (up to 8,000 characters). |
search_calls | Calls whose summary, caller name or phone number contains your text, newest first. |
list_messages_taken | Messages your receptionist took during calls: who left each one, their number, when, whether your team has read it, and the message. |
list_conversations | Inbox text and email conversations, one per customer: channels, unread and message counts, and a preview of the latest message. |
search_contacts | Contacts by name, email, phone number or company, or all of them: details, budget, timeline and a short summary. |
get_contact | One contact's details, how many messages are on file, and their five most recent calls. |
get_call_stats | Call statistics over up to 90 days (30 by default): totals, inbound and outbound, average duration, counts by sentiment, disposition and urgency, and messages taken. Setup test calls are left out. |
No call is recorded, so no recording is ever returned. Neither are credentials, carrier details or your receptionist's configuration.
Things to ask
- Which of my recent calls were urgent, and what did each caller need?
- Summarize the messages my receptionist took this week, and tell me which ones are still unread.
- Find the last call from Dana Lee and list its action items.
- How many calls did we get in the last 30 days, and how many were positive?
- Which Inbox conversations have unread messages?
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Distronode says it does not accept the application. | Only Claude can connect: claude.ai and Claude Code. Add the connector from one of them, with the connector URL exactly as written above. |
| Distronode says the account is not ready to connect. | Finish setting up your account, including verifying your email address, then connect again. |
| Distronode says the account has no workspace. | A connection reads a workspace you belong to. Create one, or ask the workspace's owner to add you. |
| Distronode says your workspace is held in another region. | Follow the Continue link on that page: it opens your region's own site with the same request. |
| Claude asks you to connect again. | The connection ended. That happens after 30 days without use, when you disconnect it, when your password or sign-in methods change, or when you leave the workspace. Connect again from Claude. |
| Claude says it was rate limited. | One connection can make 120 requests a minute. Wait a minute, then ask again. |
Disconnect
In Claude
In claude.ai, open Customize, then Connectors, and remove Distronode.
In Claude Code, run: claude mcp remove distronode
Claude then stops using the connector, but the connection stays open on our side until it has gone 30 days without use. To end it now, disconnect it in Distronode too.
In Distronode
In the dashboard, open the account menu and choose Profile and security. Under Connected apps, choose Disconnect beside the connection. Claude's access ends within 10 minutes, when its current access token expires.
Your data
What Claude reads is sent to Anthropic at your direction and may be processed outside your workspace's region, under Anthropic's own terms. We keep no copy of what Claude reads.
We keep a record of each connection, and an audit record each time Claude uses a tool: the tool and the names of its arguments, never their values, so your questions are not stored.
Section 22 of our Privacy Policy has the details.
